CSIR-CMERI Fitter Recruitment 2026 : Eligibility & Age Limit

• Age Criteria: 18 years to 28 years as on 3 August 2026 (Age relaxations applicable as per rules).
• Educational Qualification: SSC / 10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects, minimum 55% marks, plus an ITI certificate or national/state trade certificate in Fitter from a recognized institution.
  • Alternative 1: Same qualification with 2 years full-time apprentice trainee experience in Fitter.
  • Alternative 2: Same qualification with 3 years work experience in Fitter in a Government / PSU / Autonomous body.
• Desirable Skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprint interpretation, tool handling, and basic computer/AutoCAD knowledge.

CSIR-CMERI Fitter Recruitment 2026 : Selection Process & Exam Scheme

The selection procedure for the CSIR-CMERI Fitter Recruitment consists of three main stages:

• Stage 1: Screening & Trade Test: Applications are screened to shortlist candidates for a qualifying Trade Test (syllabus notified separately).
• Stage 2: Competitive Written Examination: OMR or Computer-Based Objective Test comprising multiple papers (Paper-I, II, and III) covering Mental Ability, General Awareness, English Language, and the Concerned Fitter Subject.
• Stage 3: Final Merit: Prepared strictly on the basis of marks scored in Paper-II and Paper-III, following prescribed tie-resolution guidelines.
